My room was cold this morning when I woke up. The temperature dropped last night as I slept alone in bed. As I write this article (one of the few things I’ve done all day) Jimmie’s at work; probably on a call or something…
The girls and I went to church, socialized a little with friends over lunch and came home. I watched a little t.v. and a little t.v. watched me. The house is still, with the exception of the washer and dryer. Not a lot of movement, not returning any phones calls; just naps. It’s the day after Jimmie leaves for work.
I don’t say much. I don’t do much. I like my space. I need my space to gather my thoughts and prepare myself for the next two weeks. Although it may not seem like a long time to you, trust me when I tell you a lot can and will happen while Jimmie’s away. For instance, my work schedule, the girls dance rehearsals, two fieldtrips, one club meeting (on a Saturday morning…nice) and two birthday party invites; so far.
We both agree; our lifestyle works for us. We never said it was easy, because it’s not. Food, shelter, clothing, clean water, health and wellness, transportation, employment…I can’t complain.
